Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

These terms govern your use of the Red Flame Gas Supplier website and the gas products and services we provide. Part B β€” our Privacy Policy β€” explains how we handle your personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Important LPG safety notice. LPG is a hazardous, flammable product. Incorrect storage, connection, ventilation or use can cause fire, explosion, serious injury, death or property damage. By placing an order with us, accepting a delivery, or allowing us to carry out a gas installation or connection, you confirm that you understand these risks and accept the terms set out below.

About Us

Red Flame Gas Supplier ("Red Flame", "we", "us", "our") is an LPG gas distributor based at 170 Victoria Road, Woodstock, Cape Town, 7925. We supply LPG gas refills and cylinder exchange, free local delivery, gas installations with Certificate of Compliance (COC) certification, gas cages and general LPG products across Cape Town. Part A β€” Terms of Service

1. Use of this website

The content of this website is provided for general information about our products and services. Prices, delivery times, stock and coverage areas may change without notice, and the website does not constitute a binding quotation. We make reasonable efforts to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is error-free.

2. Orders

Orders are placed by WhatsApp or telephone on 064 510 9495. An order is confirmed once we reply to you with a price and a delivery window. We may decline or cancel an order where stock, delivery access, payment or safety considerations prevent us from fulfilling it. A contract of sale comes into existence only once we have confirmed your order.

Orders placed by WhatsApp, our website or other electronic means are electronic transactions. Where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you a statutory cooling-off right, that right applies subject to its exceptions β€” it does not apply to goods that by their nature cannot be returned, which includes LPG once a cylinder has been filled, dispensed or delivered.

3. Pricing and payment

The price of an LPG refill depends on cylinder size and delivery distance. The maximum LPG price in South Africa is regulated and reviewed monthly by NERSA (the National Energy Regulator of South Africa). For this reason we do not publish fixed prices on this website β€” we confirm the current price on WhatsApp before delivery. Payment is due on delivery or collection unless other arrangements have been agreed in advance.

4. Delivery

We offer free same-day delivery to our named delivery suburbs when an order is placed before mid-afternoon. Delivery to the wider Cape Town area is available on request and may be quoted separately depending on distance. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the delivery point.

5. Cylinders and cylinder exchange

We refill and exchange LPG cylinders of any mainstream brand. On an exchange you receive a filled cylinder in sound condition in place of your empty one. Cylinders are subject to standard industry deposit and ownership arrangements, which we will explain to you at the time of sale. Cylinders must be kept upright, well ventilated and away from heat and ignition sources.

6. Gas installations and the Certificate of Compliance (COC)

We carry out domestic and commercial LPG gas installations β€” hobs, stoves, geysers, cylinder banks and connections β€” to the South African standard SANS 10087. On completion of every installation we issue a Gas Certificate of Compliance (COC).

A Certificate of Compliance certifies that the gas installation, as inspected and pressure-tested on the date of issue, conforms to SANS 10087. A valid COC is required by law when a property containing a gas installation is sold or transferred, and is commonly requested by insurers. The certificate reflects the condition of the installation at the date of issue only.

The COC covers the installation work performed by Red Flame. It does not cover: alterations, additions or repairs made by anyone else after the certificate is issued; damage, tampering or misuse after issue; or appliances we did not install or inspect. Any change to a certified installation requires a fresh inspection and a new COC.

After installation you are responsible for using the installation correctly, keeping it maintained, and reporting any suspected gas leak immediately. If you smell gas: close the cylinder valve, ventilate the area, avoid flames and electrical switches, and contact us or an emergency service.

7. Safety

LPG is a flammable fuel and must be handled with care. Always use approved cylinders, regulators and hoses; keep cylinders upright and ventilated; do not store cylinders indoors below ground level or near heat or ignition sources; and have gas installations carried out and certified by a registered installer. We are not liable for incidents arising from misuse, unauthorised modification, or equipment we did not supply or install.

Stop-work for unsafe conditions. If, while delivering or carrying out an installation or connection, we identify an unsafe condition β€” for example a gas leak, a damaged hose, pigtail or regulator, an unsafe or non-standard installation, signs of tampering, or unsafe cylinder storage β€” we will stop and decline to connect or proceed until the problem has been put right by a suitably qualified person. This is for your safety and is not negotiable.

8. Cancellations and returns

You may cancel an order at no charge before it has been dispatched for delivery. For safety reasons, LPG refills and exchanged cylinders cannot be returned once delivered. Unused accessories β€” such as regulators, hoses and fittings β€” may be returned in resalable condition, with proof of purchase, within a reasonable period. If a product is faulty, contact us and we will repair, replace or refund it in line with the Consumer Protection Act.

9. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, Red Flame is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or our products and services. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability under the Consumer Protection Act. Where liability is not excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the product or service supplied.

To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify Red Flame against claims, losses and costs arising from the condition, compliance, maintenance or use of your own premises, gas installation or appliances β€” except where the claim is caused by our own proven negligence or wilful misconduct.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page, carrying the "last updated" date shown above, is the current version and applies to your use of the site and our services from that date.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute arising from them falls under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

13. How we use your information

We use your personal information to take, confirm and deliver your orders; to carry out and certify gas installations; to contact you about your order, delivery or installation; to keep the records we need for COC, warranty, insurance and legal purposes; and to improve our service. We process this information because it is necessary to provide the products and services you have asked us for and to meet our legal obligations.

14. Cookies and website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site β€” for example, which pages are viewed and whether visitors click our WhatsApp or call buttons. This information is used in aggregate to improve the site and is not used to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

15. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to deliver our service β€” for example, with the driver carrying out your delivery β€” or where we are required to share it by law.

16. How long we keep your information

We keep order and contact information for as long as we need it to provide our service and meet our record-keeping obligations. Records relating to gas installations and Certificates of Compliance are kept for a longer period, because they may be needed for insurance, property transfer or legal purposes.

17. Your rights under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 19. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

18. Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure and to limit access to it to people who need it to carry out their work.
